ET #3 – Acting Abroad

Host: Sibusiso Manentsa – Co-founder of Credipple

From Bollywood to Hollywood there’s a growing appetite for our acting talent abroad. This talk dived into that world, the trials, tribulations and triumphs that come with it logistically and creatively. What is it like being a South African thespian abroad? Our panel included actors and creatives with different experiences being overseas within different types of production.

Shonisani Masutha – Lead Actress in Mehek, Zee World’s first production with an African cast.

Thabo Rametsi – Award-winning actor and filmmaker known for playing roles such as Kalushi with international roles on productions like Homeland.

Nick Soul – SAFTA and SAMA Nominated Actor/Singer whose highlights include playing The Lion King‘s Simba on The West End and starring in films like Love By Chance.

Nomava Kibare – Veteran Actress and broadcaster having had lead roles in Soul City and Mehek.

ET #4 – New Media Edition

Host: Sibusiso Manentsa of Credipple.

From the growing voices within Podcasting and YouTube Commentary to the rise in multimedia digital publications using apps, websites and Whatsapp networks, media is diversifying in its reach, approach and demographic. This talk explored the landscape of digital media, its promise and current pitfalls as we move to a more a digitally accessible South Africa.
